When enchantment strikes one who’s sworn to love you
Hold on to her tight through her many changes
Through the tortured night, loving her and waiting
Until dawn brings her home.
Note: the prompt was to write a poem in Sapphics. While I enjoy strict rhyme schemes and patterns of repetition, I’m not fond of formal metre – dactyls and iambs and all that malarkey. And it’s a very busy day today, so this is all you get.
