2015 Day 6 – Now I was lost.

Now I was lost.
Not that she was gone
But she had travelled
Where I could not follow.
Strangeness had touched her face, her tongue.
Alien, speaking a language foreign yet familiar,
Pausing on her way to that latitudeless place
Where no maps lead.

Unaltered, the universe continued
But Love’s transmigration somehow
Changed time and space.
She walked through stars
And tasted comets.

To this place I had come,
Mazed and amazed
To remember the day
I had paid so much for,
Freedom, family,all.
There is no return.
There is no restitution.

Note: The prompt was “Find an Emily Dickinson poem – preferably one you’ve never previously read – and take out all the dashes and line breaks. Make it just one big block of prose. Now, rebreak the lines. Add words where you want. Take out some words. Make your own poem out of it!” I used this one.
