2014 Day 4 Charm

This may not be a true love charm
I weave around you while you sleep
But it won’t do you any harm.

The blessed peace when an alarm
Ceases its rest-destroying beep:
This may not be a true love charm.

Cold fire of stars when night is calm
Is joy enough to make you weep
But it won’t do you any harm.

A kitten’s purr, a murmured psalm,
Sweetness of mangoes, warmth of sheep:
This may not be a true love charm.

An argent kiss to cross your palm,
A verse that may not be too deep –
But it won’t do you any harm.

I can say, without a qualm,
This spell is yours, and yours to keep.
This may not be a true love charm
But it won’t do you any harm.

Note: the prompt was to write a charm. This may not be.
