2014 Day 3 Futakuchi-onna

See, I am frugal.
My mouth, my small mouth,
Nibbles tiny portions,
A grain at a time.
I am modest,
Make no demands,
Ask nothing for myself.

Do not look
Under my hair.
The mouth that gapes
At the back of my head.
My mouth, my hungry mouth,
That demands everything.

Note: The prompt was to write a poem inspired by non-Greek mythology. The idea of the Futakuchi-onna, the ‘two-mouthed woman’, intrigued me.
